Assignments are the same
The shift begins
Time is upon them
One by one
From the tunnel
They march like soldiers
Armed for battle
They meet
At the common ground
For the cause
Making each day cleaner
Than the one before
They wait
Contemplating
Their nightly duties
Two by two
The lift takes them up
To man their post
And stand their ground
They are unsung heroes
They are night janitors
